Dear Friends,

We are thrilled and honored to support the North Shore High School Music Department as it embarks with a group of 90 students, teachers and chaperones on a performance tour of Cuba over the February break.  We are reaching out to all members of the community to share the news of this extraordinary educational opportunity and invite you to join us in supporting this journey.   To launch community support for the tour,  we are co-hosting with the Music Department a kickoff party at the Glenwood Landing American Legion Hall Post on October 24.  The event "Danza Cubana" will highlight many of the enduring aspects of Cuban culture with live music performances, a DJ, Cuban dance lessons, samples of Cuban cuisine and more.  Join us and learn how to rumba, cha-cha and mambo, or simply enjoy the music, cash bar and refreshments.

We invite you to buy tickets for the event (click here), or join others who are supporting the tour as underwriters.  Options are available for all budgets - starting at just $25 you can purchase an ad in the commemorative tour program that will be shared with concertgoers at all Cuban performance venues and serve as a greeting from our community to the several communities our students will be visiting.  Proceeds from the party, program ads and underwriter donations defray the additional expenses associated with touring this place that has only recently been opened to American educational groups.  While students' families pay most of the tour fees,  logistical challenges have boosted costs and the Music Department needs the support of the entire community to ensure that all expenses are met and that qualified students are included regardless of their ability to pay.

Please do join us in supporting our talented and dedicated student artists and their gifted and devoted teachers as they represent us to the people of Cuba.  Many thanks!
